Machining of ceramic bodies using CAD-CAM
Kaplan, Lukáš ; Částková, Klára (referee) ; Kaštyl, Jaroslav (advisor)
The literature part of bachelor's thesis deals with ceramic materials based on Al2O3 and ZrO2, methods of sample preparation for consequent machining, different methods of machining, especially the technology of CNC machining in non-sintered and sintered state with their comparison. The thesis presents possible examples of the use of ceramic parts. The experimental part of the thesis deals with the machining of ceramic based on ZrO2 using different types of ceramic powders, methods of preparation and the choice of the sintered temperature in relation to its properties. The best results were achieved with SZ-3Y ceramic material sintered at 1550 °C for 2 hours, strength values were 1203 MPa, roughness of surface Ra was 126 nm a grain size was 382 nm.
Milling of pre-sintered ceramics using CAD / CAM
Ščasnovič, Erik ; Pouchlý, Václav (referee) ; Kaštyl, Jaroslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on determination of proper pre-sintering temperatures of zirconia ceramic blanks intended for CAD-CAM milling. Functional properties of milled and sintered samples are also discussed. Experimental part is aimed on determination of properties of blanks which affect directly the CAD-CAM process. Another solved issue is definition of mechanical and physical properties of sintered bodies. Final properties are compared with properties of ceramic blanks made from standard ceramic powder. Dental crown, dental three-unit bridge and partial knee joint were prepared successfully. The tests of geometric accuracy were performed on dental crown as well as on partial knee joint replacement with using 3D scanner.

Craniofacial epithesis
Starčevská, Lenka ; Černý, Pavel (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Craniofacial epitheses Objectives: The purpose of the work is to make a comprehensive overview of information about craniofacial epitheses including indications, history, materials, description of manufacturing and new technologies used in epithetics, using a systematic search of available sources. Methods: The work uses the method of systematic search of published sources in available databases. Professional articles articles mainly from foreign production were used. Results: The result of the work describes indications for epitheses, such as tumors, traumatic changes and congenital anomalies. It also describes the history of craniofacial epitheses, materials used for manufacturing and retention systems. It contains a description of conventional manufacturing and also focuses on the improving digital technologies applied to manufacturing. The work can be useful for students of orthotics-prosthetics, for dental technician students and also workers meeting this issue. Keywords: craniofacial epitheses, anaplastology, facial defects, silicone prostheses, cad-cam, materials, retention of epitheses
